While our Stone Carver, Ryan Watson is busy carving this homes custom designed limestone fireplace by hand (as featured in the previous blog), our masonry crew has been hard at work inside. As you walk into our clients dream home you'll be greeted by a natural limestone wall that extends 20 feet wide by 20 feet tall. Even the outlet covers are customized limestone. Watson and the home owners have been studying this homes masonry design for both interior and exterior since early last fall.
When it comes to customizing stonework in your home the options are utterly endless. There is no limit to what Watson can carve or create with stone. The natural beauty of stone and its stunning earthy texture is always one-of-a-kind and truly breathtaking. When designing your dream home or business you certainly can't go wrong with a feature wall of this magnitude, inside or out. Not only does natural stone give a magnificent appearance, its durability is remarkable, it's maintenance free and it lasts a lifetime. Be sure to check out our galleries for all of our past projects.

Owner and Stone Carver, Ryan Watson is gearing up for Rocco Masons next hand carved stone project. After many consultations with the home owner, Watson came up with a design that once complete, will be the ultimate focal point for this homes family room.
Here you see the design stage, stone measurements and calculations on paper. Each piece of limestone will be hand carved using the traditional tools of the trade. Most of Watson's tools predate the depression of 1929, most of which have the carvers names punched right into them from over 80 years ago! From these calculations above, Watson will determine how much limestone will be required so the fabrication of this limestone fireplace surround can begin. Stay tuned for a time lapse video of Watson's stone carving in action and be sure to follow our work on facebook. Owners Ryan and Nicolene Watson are Chicago bound in less than one week!! Hard to believe ten years have come and gone since Watson worked at restoring the hand carved stone work on Chicago's Board of Trade building. They're looking forward to spending time with sculptor Walter S. Arnold Sculptor and admiring all the amazing architecture by the great Frank Lloyd Wright #inspirationvacation #dowhatyoulove #masonry
As promised here is our completed Brandy-wine brick project in the area of Sutherland in Saskatoon, SK. The limestone window sills are a must see along with the brick detail and split faced concrete block combination. This duplex home is a real show stopper and we're excited to see brick homes making a come back. We look forward to many more projects with Bellevue Construction.
