Stone fabrication is in full swing on our Broadway Avenue project in Saskatoon, SK. These Indiana limestone pieces weigh in at 280 pounds each (bottom left photo) and need to be dressed by hand before installation. We're also fabricating the moulding returns by hand as seen in the bottom right photo. The entire face of this building will be head to toe in stone and brick and will be sensitive to the history of the existing Avenue.
Our crew is hard at work on Sask Crescent West. Here you see us restoring the existing brick by sawing off the old mortar after the bricks have been removed one by one. These bricks will be re-used in the restoration of this homes magnificent entryway. It's a dirty job but the end product is going to be well worth it.
We're days away now from getting started on the masonry for this renovation project on Broadway Avenue in Saskatoon, SK. Elements of the Masonry portion were designed and created by Owner, & Stone Carver, Ryan Watson. Watson's creation has been a long time in the making. Along with his 15 years of masonry experience, his design was inspired by a trip made to Canada's Capital with his wife and business partner in 2014. His masonry design is sensitive to the heritage feel of the existing architectural buildings that currently adorn Broadway Avenue. Once complete this project will surely be getting second looks. By the end of this fall you'll see this building wrapped in Indiana limestone and brick with touches of hand carved stone signage and details throughout. Stay Tuned. #stonemasonry #handcarved #roccomasons
