Did you know that our stone carvings are completely hand carved from start to finish?
Before this memorial carving began (as seen in photo #1) the limestone weighed approximately 235 pounds ---- it's since had over 45 pounds of limestone carved out by hand. The progress seen here took our Stone Carver, Ryan Watson around 40 hours. Next up, Watson will hand pitch its limestone base to include the clients last name then it's off to the sandblasters before its final resting place at the cemetery in Dinsmore, Saskatchewan. The images below can be enlarged by clicking on them, then follow the arrows through to the end. Follow us here or on twitter, instagram and facebook to see this memorial after installation.

Above is a close up of the completed hand carved Indiana limestone address marker for our residential project located in Saskatoon, SK. Stay tuned for our next carving; a hand carved book memorial with a wheat sheaf to represent the prairies. It's going to be magnificent and will certainly be sure to stand out at the cemetery. Our home owners loved their entryway so much that they decided to add an additional stone feature wall to their main family room which wraps around into the kitchen. Our Stone Masons dry laid this sandstone to perfection with no visible mortar joints and again, all outlet surrounds were customized in limestone.
Do you see the two red bricks? These bricks have sentimental value to the family and are from Saskatoon's historic Farnam Block building, better knows as Lydia's pub on Broadway Avenue. The Farnam block building was more than a century old and was unique in Saskatoon because of its walk-up style architecture as seen here: Farnam Block The limestone for this homes exterior is on it's way so stay tuned for our one-of-a-kind masonry design. #happysaintpattysday Stone Carver, Ryan Watson just completed the final touches to this hand carved Indiana limestone address marker.
