It was a bitter sweet morning installing this hand carved angel onto the entryway of this residence. Owner and Stone Carver, Ryan Watson (above) spent almost as much time carving out her delicate facial expression as he did on an entire wing. Watson's goal was for her to look loving and peaceful yet proud to take watch over her home. There's nothing like getting a carving out of the shop and into the suns different ranges of cross lighting. Her face lights up in different ways depending on the time of day. This is one you need to see in person at the 700th block of Queen Street at 7th Avenue in Saskatoon, SK. Stay tuned for a time lapse video of her face from start to finish courtesy of Chuckla Productions.
Construction will soon begin on this outdoor fireplace and pizza oven combo. Above is the concept drawing designed by Owner Ryan Watson. It will be constructed using two types of limestone and will stand 11 feet tall by 12.5 feet wide. From left to right: wood storage, firebox and chimney, and pizza oven.
This fireplace was constructed of brick with limestone capping which we also used on the homes exterior and interior fireplace.
This quartzite fireplace we constructed makes for a great place for these home owners to warm up by after a day in their pool.
Our latest hand carved project is really starting to come to life. Owner and Stone Carver Ryan Watson predicts the completion of the angels facial features to be mid-May with installation there after. We plan to launch a time lapsed video of her face being carved out and look forward to sharing it with you.
