It's hard to imagine the transformation of a blank rectangular piece of limestone being carved into what you see here until you see it happeing for yourself. So this year, we've decided to open our Carving shop up to the public. All you have to do is email us at [email protected] to book a tour to watch our Stone Carver, Ryan Watson in action and experience the art of stone carving for yourself.
As with all carving projects, each starts out as an idea in pencil on paper as shown in the first picture. From there you see the progression of two Indiana limestone acanthus leaf brackets that will be used to support a limestone mantel for a stone fireplace. For a great persepctive on real versus fake stone, check out this article: REAL VS FAKE and in the meantime, stay tuned for updates on this project and more by following us on instagram, facebook and twiiter @rocco_masons.
